What BritRail GB M-Pass suits you?
Consecutive M-Pass
A Consecutive BritRail GB M-Pass is valid for a set number of days in a row. For example: if you start using a four-day mobile pass on a Monday, it will be valid until Thursday.
This pass will suit you if:
- You are taking several day trips from a central base.
- You want to reach several destinations in a short amount of time.
Flexi M-Pass
With a Flexi BritRail GB M-Pass, your travel days do not need to be consecutive – you can travel for a set number of days over a period of a calendar month. For example: if you start using a four days pass on the 23 March, you then have three remaining days that you can use your pass until the 22 April inclusive.
This pass will suit you if:
- You want to stop at different destinations and relax for a few days before moving on.
- You want the freedom to change your travel plans last minute.
Using your pass
- You can activate your pass by clicking on the link received by email and selecting the first date of travel. Your pass is considered activated if the first and last day of validity is defined. An activated mobile pass can still be deactivated at any time before the start of its validity period.
- The BritRail M-Pass can be validated up to 6 months after the departure date you stated when ordering. Once validated (first use), the BritRail M-Pass is non-refundable.
- We recommend activating the pass close to the date of the intended first use to avoid issues caused by travel delays or last-minute changes.
- After activation and booking the first journey, you can either book the rest of the journeys you have already planned or book them closer to the date you intend to travel to avoid disappointment.
Children information
- Children aged 5 years old or under can travel free of charge but must hold a valid ticket.
- With every adult or senior pass selected, you are entitled to a free child ticket.
- The child passes will reflect the same type and duration of the adult and senior already chosen.
Accessibility information
To request assistance at the station you need to book it in advance - now up to 2 hours before your journey - by using Passenger Assist.
Passenger Assist booking will be then due to start, any time of the day of your choice and includes:
- a helping hand to navigate the station.
- support when boarding the train.
- assisting when transiting to the next train.
- arranging a ramp on or off your train
- for non-visible impairments assistance.
- carrying up to three items of luggage.
The train company you’re travelling with will organise assistance for your entire journey, no matter the company that runs the next train.

Britrail GB M-Pass restrictions
- Only unused and unvalidated BritRail passes are refundable within 11 months from the date of issuance although a 15% cancellation fee applies.
- BritRail passes are not available to UK residents; this includes international students who are studying or have resided in the UK for more than 6 months.
- A BritRail GB M-Pass cannot be modified or cancelled once downloaded and validated.
- BritRail Euro GB M-Passes are not valid on the London Underground services.
- BritRail GB M-Passes’ holders can use the rail passes to board the most of the train services in Great Britain except the following:
- Eurostar services between London and Brussels or Paris.
- London Transport Underground trains or buses.
- Special excursions, ships or other Channel ferries, or coach services.
- BritRail Passes are not valid on trains in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, or any other transport service not mentioned above.
Additional information
- You will need to provide the full name of each passenger (except children under 5) as it is shown in their passport.
- Once you choose a day of travel you would be able to use it from 00:00 hrs to 24:00 hrs (midnight to midnight) on a chosen day of travel.
- When traveling on an overnight train containing sleeper accommodation, you are required to insert the next day’s date to avoid fines or pay full fare ticket.
- Remember your passport, as you will not only need it to arrive into Britain but you will need to produce it along with your BritRail Pass as proof if asked by train staff.
