Using your Heathrow Express ticket

Heathrow to London Paddington

Departure points:

  • Heathrow Central Station is located between Terminals 2 and 3. The terminals are signposted from the station and can be reached on foot in a few minutes
  • Heathrow Terminal 4 and Heathrow Terminal 5 stations are inside the terminals themselves. Lifts and escalators provide step-free access to check-in or arrivals, which are signposted
  • If you are arriving at Terminal 4, take the free inter-terminal train to Heathrow Central (takes just 4 minutes) and change for the Heathrow Express
  • Services run every 15 minutes and travelling to London takes approximately 15 minutes from Terminals 2 and 3, and six additional minutes from Terminal 5

London Paddington to Heathrow

Trains usually depart from Platforms 6 and 7 at London Paddington:

  • If you are travelling to Terminal 2 or Terminal 3, board any train and get off at Heathrow Central. Journey time is 15 minutes
  • For Terminal 5, get on the London-Heathrow train at Paddington and stay on board at Heathrow Central – all trains continue to Terminal 5, arriving six minutes later
  • For Terminal 4, change at Heathrow Central and catch the free transfer service. These connecting trains depart every 15 minutes and travel time is about five minutes

Prepare for the experience

Children information

  • Children aged 15 years and under can travel free of charge:
    • when accompanied by a paying adult aged at least 18
    • unaccompanied children can travel if they have proof of air travel such as a valid flight booking or boarding pass
    • when unaccompanied, children will have to show a photo ID and request a ticket to Heathrow Express member of staff before travelling at the terminal, station or on-board
  • Heathrow Express will not take responsibility for children travelling alone, parents do so at their own risk

Accessibility information

  • All the stations served by Heathrow Express have step-free access and there is level access between the platform and our trains
  • If you are travelling with a wheelchair or mobility scooter, our trained onboard and station staff are available to help you onto and off the train with a portable ramp
  • You can request assistance from the Passenger Assistance service once you have booked your tickets
