Children information

  • Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult.

  • Children under 5 years old travel free of charge.

Accessibility information

  • Launches are as accessible as possible to those with mobility problems:  handrails on both boats and jetties are floating pontoons that maintain a constant height
  • Working guide dogs are allowed free of charge.
  • Although access to wheelchairs is not possible, small folding wheelchairs are allowed and any disabled person will be assisted to board the boat.
  • Please contact our team before booking should you require further accessibility information regarding the experience.

Additional information

  • You can bring your pet along but you should be prepared to pay an extra 50p fee on location.
  • Get a discount to visit the former home of John Ruskin in Brantwood with your ferry ticket. Your house tickets will be handed to you on the boat on the day.

  • 10th - 31st Dec 2022
    • Weekends only: 10:40 am - 2:40 pm (last ferry returns to Coniston at 3:25 pm).
  • 2nd - 29th January
    • Weekends only: 10:40 am - 2:40 pm (last ferry returns to Coniston at 3:25 pm)..
  • 4th February - 10th March
    • Daily: 10:40 am - 2:40 pm (last ferry returns to Coniston at 3:25 pm).

Please note that house entry is available at the following sates and times:

  • Daily: 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3pm.

  • Start and end location: Coniston Ferry Service pier, Coniston, LA21 8AN.
  • Red route stops:
    • Departure from Coniston Boat Landings
    • Coniston Inn
    • Torver
    • Brantwood
    • Returns to Coniston. 
  • The nearest train station and bus stations: Windermere (Bus 505, towards Coniston) and Kirky-in-Furness (Bus X7 towards Coniston).
